According to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC, 2018), children in the age group corresponding to Early Childhood Education must have six learning and development rights guaranteed: to live together, play, participate, explore, express and know themselves. When we look at the BNCC guidelines for this audience, we realize the relevance of the study of images in Early Childhood Education, since image reading is explored in different fields of BNCC experiences, indicating its importance in the construction of world reading carried out by child. These readings take place while the child reads what is around them and are translated into the most diverse types of languages.
