“Welcome back, viewers, to the one-stop shop to all the monster mashing-ups. I am your beloved host. This your monthly installment of your favorite news program, so let's dive into it, shall we? This is Tokyo Today at Five!”
“This month was all about the tournament to decide who would uphold the title of King of the Monster while The Mighty One received some much needed rest and relaxation. That's right, we found out quite quickly after his battle with Nyarlath that the wear and tear of being the top hero had wore on his might quite heavily. Doctors ordered him to stay in bed, watch some movies, and eat some chicken noodle soap.”
“The brain child of the city's mayor, Mack Mayor, was called The Monster City Hero Invitational Tournament, and as big as the name was, so was the excitement and competition. Every hero from across the world came to the city to test their strengths against each other for the right to be the pinnacle of heroic greatness.”
“After weeks of heated competition and mischievous mishaps, front-runners Citius and Axel the Mutated Shark found each other in the final round. They battled until Axel's rival, the evil robotic MechaAxel, interrupted and tried to eliminate the wounded hero. The heroes put their fight on hold for a moment to put a possible permanent end to his robotic counterpart.”
“Once they had the finals back on track, Citius proved to be the one to carry the weight of King of the Monsters. There's just one problem with that: no sooner did he win, we found out The Mighty Mjaeder has recovered. What is the city going to do with two Kings of the Monsters? There is only one way to find out! Check back with us next month! Thanks for watching, viewers! Tokyo Tonight at Five, signing off!”
"Oh, wait. Quick question: has anyone found the carbon modulator, yet?"
