(In the middle of the city...)
“You scum dare to defy me?” Megapwn shouts, towering over this rag-tag team of gigantic defenders. “Fine, forsake your existence on this pathetic planet! Now crumble to my infinite army!”
On his call, a wave of soaring fighter jets soar by. As they carve their ways through the cityscape, they fire upon Megapwn's enemies, dropping missiles and heavy gunfire. The monster try to avoid the attacks, but they just too quick, not to mention the sound of crunching tank treads can be heard not too far away.
“That's right, you pitiful fools!” he continues to berate. “This planet has given it's allegiance to me, Megapwn! Now the inhabitants of the planet you wish to protect... now want you dead!”
Tank cannons explode, rocketing large, destructive ammunition through the air. What shots don't directly hit or pin down our defenders, shatter building sides. Citius does what he can to mend the falling bricks and cement, but the devastation is overwhelming. He opts to stay in partial cover like the rest.
“This onslaught must end!” The Mighty Mjaeder yells out, trying to insight a counter-cry.
“We must be careful! This is not the planet we know anymore,” Blue Mantis replies. “But we can't destroy these military forces. Their minds are under Megapwn's control! We have to find a different way to remove his brainwashing powers over this world!”
Citius nods in agreement, although understands how hard it is to win a fight being a pacifist. They are truly in a hard predicament. Just then, SatelLight hovers down from below and diverts the attention of gunfire. His fast and nimble body jets around the bullets and cannon shots. The armies of the world become agitated with this round metal insect.
“Now is our time, warriors!” Mjaeder commands, pointing his hammer out towards a battle with the evil tyrant. “I don't know if this means SatelLight is on our side, but we can't let this favor go to waste! Let's take out the source of this chaos and war! Attack Megapwn!”
“Not so fast!” Megapwn replies, turning and noticing the advance. “Minion, get them!”
Giant black wings swoop down and an enormous figure clutches onto Blue Mantis. He lets out a scream, as he tries to pry the black talons off his shoulder, but he is unable to. The figure drives the Mantis into a building in one driving force. The whole construction falls inward on the blue hero. The figure spins around and lands on the street, facing Citius and Mjaeder. It's none other than legendary black dragon Draco.
“You foul beast! How did you get into this realm?” the mighty viking beckons. “You shouldn't be here!”
Draco tauntingly growls back, as if he finds some pleasure in upsetting others.
“But never mind that! You now will fall and then your master will follow your fate! Feel our mighty might!”
Mjaeder and Citius dive into battle, but they quickly find black dragon is all but an expert in furious combat. Draco pins down Mjaeder with fire breath while whipping his spiky tail at Citius. The heroes again find themselves on the defense. Mjaeder holds out hammer like a shield, blocking the inferno, and in one quick motion, he rolls and heaves the weapon forward through the blast. It soars through the flame and collides with Draco's face, slamming his head back with a painful howl.
This also allows Citius to close the distance and take the opportunity to ground the foul dragon with some melee pummeling. He lands some rocky fists and knees that damage the scaly body of Draco quite well. On a roll, Mjaeder quickly gets back to his feet and charges forward, grabbing his hammer. He leaps into the air and clocks the dragon in the head.
Draco shrieks and moves awkwardly, trying to figure out a leverage point in the fight. He flaps his wings and begins to take flight, but The Mighty One hurls his hammer again into the sky, hitting the dragon in the ribs. He grimaces and lowers towards the street, where Citius takes ahold of him by the base of his wings. In a swinging motion, Citius drives the black dragon into an empty parking garage and subsequently commands the facility to magically mold around the beast like a metal and stone coffin. Draco howls but is unable to escape.
“You worthless dragon!” Megapwn lets out. “I had great plans for you, but alas, your legends are greater than your abilities. What a pity.”
“Enough hiding behind your goon, Megapwn!” Mjaeder yells, turning his attention away from the vanquished Draco. “Have you no might?”
“Might? I have more than might, you silly bearded man! I have everything! I have ultimate power with an infinite army! I am the ruler of this planet and King of the Monsters! I have it all!”
“Not for much longer!”
Mjaeder and Citius leap into battle. They are quite small, but are faster combatants. Citius, in particular, is quite surprised by this. They strike all around. They punch and kick different spots of the gigantic Megapwn, but nothing seems to even scratch his evil purple armor. Then, in one clean strike, Megapwn waves off both heroes, backhanding them both away. They roll and tumble backwards.
When they come to, they are greeted by SatelLight, who seems to have completely baffled the mega army's attacks. Citius and Mjaeder charge back into battle, this time the volley is backed up with laser blasts from the deadly orbital weapon.
They go at it again, putting on strikes as hard as they can, but Megapwn just stands there and takes the slight annoyance. After a short moment, he tosses the heroes back again.
“This isn't working!” Mjaeder shouts. “Nothing we do is even leaving a scratch! What are we missing?”
SatelLight quickly runs a synoptic scan over Megapwn. He analysis current fighting data and projections. After a quick moment of number crunching, he shines a laser to the circular device in the center of Megapwn's chest.
“That must be the source!” The Mighty One cries out. “Citius! SatelLight! Cover me! My might will put an end to this!”
Our mighty viking defender charges in, once again. Citius is behind him, readying up his Tesla coil hand cannon, and behind him is SatelLight, firing feverishly at the enormous purple brute. Megapwn takes note of this annoying cooperative effort and zones into Mjaeder. He dives a hard fist down, but the viking warrior slips away. Megapwn opens his hand and looks to backhand him away, but the tiniest city-crushing monster leaps onto his wrist. He begins to run up his arm, clanging his hammer on any piece that juts up far enough.
Megapwn takes his other hand and tries to knock away the little pest, but he's too fast. Mjaeder is virtually on his shoulder now. The tyrant fires laser beams from his eyes that nearly connect, if the swift warrior didn't quickly dart around the behemoths gigantic neck. He begins to scale his shoulders, from left to right, with his attention growing on his chest area. Then he leaps.
Mjaeder skids down the front of Megapwn. It's almost too slick, but the viking champion can get a slight grip in his toes. He lays his hands on the magical circular device locked within his chest and tries to jerk it out, but it's lodged in. With every effort, Megapwn shakes a little more, trying to shake him off. Mjaeder holds on but his fingertips begin to bleed from the pressure.
“It won't budge!” The Mighty One cries out. “Citius! SatelLight! Blue Mantis, even, if you're still alive! Fire all you have at his chest!”
The remaining heroes comply, although a battered Blue Mantis is once again foiled by a 'you suck' off in the distance from some nasty green-furred human-sized rat. His shot goes wildly into the night sky hitting nothing. Shame befalls onto him. Citius, in particular, readies his new super laser weapon.
“Okay! Now!”
Mjaeder darts off of Megapwn's body, just as the concentrated blasts of all the other heroes hit directly in the center area of the evil tyrant's chest. Megapwn is finally rocked back, with his head snapping back. He almost seems dazed. Mjaeder takes the opportunity to fly back towards the device. It's red hot and nearly molten.
He takes a deep breath and prepares for a world of pain. He puts his hands on the melted metal and instantly hears the crackling of flesh cooking on it. The unmistakable stench of burning skin and hair permeates the air, but with just good yank the device might come loose.
Oh, wait. There is it. He did.
“Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!” Megapwn shrieks. “My mind-control deviceeeeeeeeeee!!!”
Flying back, the air cools down the metal, and as Mjaeder reaches the firing line with the rest of the heroes. They look on, as the metal device hits the ground. Soon after, our viking hero goes to a knee, hammer in hand, looking to smash the device into a million pieces.
“No, Mjaeder, don't!” Blue Mantis shouts out. “Not yet! We understand that device can harbor the power to do very evil things, but we mustn't waste this opportunity to investigate it's origins and analyze it's composition for science. This sort of technological breakthrough could rebuild this suffering planet. We should at least turn it in first.”
This is all Mjaeder needs to hear. He stops and comes back up to his feet.
“You fools! Give me back what is mine!” Megapwn continues to cackle. “Give me back my mind-control device! Give me back my armies! Give me back my planet!”
“This isn't your planet anymore!” Mjaeder says.
Just then, thousands upon thousand of armored vehicles, tanks, mecha, and hovering bombers litter the horizon behind the heroic monsters.
“It's our planet, Megapuke!” a particular soldier shouts, popping up from his gun turret. “Now go back to where you came from, if you know what's go for you!”
Flamethrowers begin to heat up. Miniguns begin to slightly spin, and you can hear the single clang of the next cannon shell being loaded in the tank barrell.
“You are all going to be so sorry!” Megapwn barks. “When I return, I won't be playing nice. I won't be asking nicely. I'll just have this planet turned to dust!”
Just then, a giant thunderous clap shakes the ground and bright purple flash covers the scene. When everyone opens their eyes, the evil tyrant is gone, but is it for good?
It's hard telling, but at this moment, there is peace. It's a time for rebuilding and a time for healing, and in no specific order. The men of Alternae congratulate the monstrous heroes that traveled dimensions, universes, and wormholes to save their planet, and likewise, the heroes show them Megapwn's mind control device. Mjaeder personally walks it to a high-ranking military official.
Blue Mantis stands off in the distance, watching the whole scene go down.
“What a predictable idiot you are, Mjaeder,” Mantis mumbles, in a demonic, other-worldly voice.
“I am glad I didn't kill you when I had the chance. Now I can have you drop that device right... into... mind... hand.”
Mantis turns and begins to walk away. His face slowly morphs back to that of Nyarlath, Demon of Terror.
