Role-play deadline Oct. 30th at Midnight, Eastern Time. *Subject to change* Midnight. Tokyo rumbles, deep underground. While the city sleeps, snug in their beds from the cold autumn air, a change has occurred. While their silent heads are full of sleep, they are unaware of the nightmares that awoke just outsides their doors. A quiet whisper is carried through the bone-chilling breeze. "Tokyo Must Die". First off, thank you guys for joining! Don't worry about the small roster size, at the moment, we have a few players watching in, getting the vibe of the game that way, so show them how it's done and LET'S TEAR THIS MUTHA DOWN! (Random Encounter) Mebbles vs Udyr The Animal Spirit
(Random Encounter) Brian Thorn vs. Draco The MalevolentNormally I would write a little storyline about these match-ups, but where your "awakening" or introduction role-plays are specialized and very important to your character, I am going to let you fill in that blank your own way. Game on!

“Konnichiwa, ghouls and ghosts, to Tokyo Tonight at Five, your city's number one, super cool, news program! Tonight is Halloween, and that means all the children of Tokyo are out collecting candy dressed up as super heroes, skeletons, and scarey monsters! Let's pass it over to Satori Ito, reporter on the scene. Tell me, Satori, do you see any scarey monsters tonight?”
“Arigato! I am standing here, in the streets of Akihabara, and I am fearful of my life! These monsters sure are scarey!”
The camera feed focuses and shows the scene reporter surrounded by ten to twelve giggling kids dressed as various ghastly haunts and fanged beasts.
“Spread the word! Their weakness is candy! If you give them candy, they won't eat your face!”
The children laugh and cheer for candy, as the video feed returns back to the lead reporter back in the studio.
“Very important information, and truly frightening guests you have there!”
The video cuts back to the children and the reporter.
“Hai! Who do we have here? It looks like we have an evil ninja, a zombie, a pirate, Shrek, Kon from Bleach, and a baby Godzilla. It quite the crowd-”
Suddenly, the background lights up in brilliant glow of orange destruction. Quickly following, is the crackling sound of shattering cement walls and breaking glass.
“Oh, my god! What is happening?”
Screams fill the screen, as chaos comes over the program. It's full blown panic, with people running every which direction.
“Quick, go get the children to safety!”
The cameras roll at the scene reporter takes the kids off camera. Then, through the dust and fog of destruction glows a pair of yellow orbs.
“What the...”
The earth shakes and the glow gets better, and then again. Then, walking through the wreckage, is a sinister-looking black dragon. It looks around the ground, with hatred and evil in his eyes.
“Oh, no! Is that Draco The Malevolent! Why is he back? Why? Why? Why?”
Draco bends low to the ground, notices a collection of people hiding in the first floor of a skyscraper, and sticks his mouth through the first door. He inhales, and, in a giant plume of death, exhales a wide stream of fire into the building. He removes his face, with a look of contempt, and begins to punch and kick the building down on the inferno he created on the ground floor.
“Ohhhh! Those poor souls! Somebody please save us!”
Out of nowhere, a robotic leg kick swings into the view of the camera, knocking the dragon from the burning heap. The dragon tumbles away, and Mystery Robo takes the opportunity to bend down and extinguish the blaze through a strong vent in his hand.
“What the-? Who is this? Is he here to save us?”
The dragon rolls to his feet, notices his fire killed, and howls in vengeance. It begins to flap it's ink black wings and take to the sky. The mysterious defender tries to keep an eye on the evil beast in the night sky, but it's almost impossible with Akihabara's neon lights blinding you. The wind gusts, and the dragon comes swooping down, claws open, and digs them into the shoulders of the robot. He drags him down the street, pushing many vehicles over, and then into a building. Falling debris and glass shatter on his metallic skull.
“Come on, Defender Robo! You can do it!”
Draco stands from a short distance, laughs at the pain his inflicts on others, and then chooses to march in, looking to add to the punishment. Unluckily for him, a missile pod opens on the downed robot's shoulder, and a series of dancing flares shoot up into the black sky. They race back down and smash into the dragon, knocking him hard to the ground in a smoking crater.
“Ohhh! That did it!”
The mechanized hero breaks free of the rubble, and looks on to see if that display of firepower was enough to destroy the evil beast. He looks on, waiting for the dust to settle. Suddenly, a gust of fire shoots from the cloud of dust. The robot evades it, and the dragon bolts out, lead by his teeth and claws. He misses his attacks, allowing the robot to counter in a grapple that leads to a fierce body slam back into the pavement. The dragon quickly tries to make it to his feet, but he is met with a series of knees and miscellaneous gunfire from various small firing points. The demon is softened up, staggers to his feet, and met with a robotic roundhouse kick, that sends it tumbling down the street.
“Oh yes! Give it to him!”
Draco comes to, snickers, roars, and flies away. The giant robot stands, silently, with his arms stretched out, wondering why his enemy retreated so cowardly.
“He did it! He scared off Draco! Satori, if you are still down there, try and get a word with him! We need a name or something!”
The reporter runs on screen, flapping his arms, and soon the mecha bends to a knee and the cockpit opens.
“He's coming out! The man who saved Tokyo from Draco is coming out of his robot!”
The reporter runs over, as a man emerges from the blinding glow of his robotic control room.
“Sir, thank you so much! You have saved all of us, all the innocent people, from that horrible beast Draco, but, I have to ask you a question, who are you? What is your name?”
“My name is...”
“Wait, I know who you are! Ladies and Gentlemen, Japan's new hero is none other than Brian Thorn!!!”
Thorn stands stoically, chest puffed out, as he receives the praises and appreciation from the citizens around him.
“This just in! There appears to be another disaster site in Tokyo tonight! Let's go over there now!”
The video cuts over to a security camera showing footage of two other giant monsters fighting among the buildings of Tokyo. It appears as if there is a giant druid trying to attack a smaller, speedy lizard like creature.
“Tokyo has just got strange! I can't believe my mind! This looks like some Halloween trick, but, I assure you, it's real!”
Frustrated in his near misses, the druid roars and begins to glow in a magic aura. He grows in size, hunches a little over, and his arms turn into giant clawed weapons of instant destruction. The speedy lizard shoot by again, but, this time, he is caught by a giant bear paw and sent spinning out of control into a crumbling building.
“Holy crap! That thing shot into that building like a bullet!”
The druid follows up, leans into the building, and drags out the little speed demon. He starts to lay some mean punches into it, but then the wily thing pops on the druids head, trying to eat his head whole.
“Oh, my god! Look at that little guy go!”
The druid swings blindly, and then starts to punch himself, trying to get the miniature dragon off his head. Suddenly, the ankle biter pops up, and the druid hit himself with the following uppercut, sending himself to the car garage below.
“That's almost funny for everyone but the owners of those cars down there!”
The reptile stands at a distance, reluctant to retaliate. He tries to reason with him. It fails, as the druid stands from the wreckage and points at city park, blocks away, a place now smoldering from a spaceship crash.
“That bear-man seems pissed about something! I'd hate to be that gecko, right about now!”
The dragon looks over, and expresses genuine empathy and regret, but the beast-man will have none of it. He roars again, changing his body into more of a mobile form. His hunch disappears, along with his giant tree-truck bear arms. Instead he grows fangs and striped fur. He darts forward in a mean fury.
“He's relentless! If this little guy doesn't want to fight back, he needs to get the heck out of there!”
As the tinier monster bolts out of the scene, the camera struggles to keep both of the speedy creatures in frame. They shoot across the city, over bridges, and across barges, floating in the harbor.
“Wow, these guys are fast! Our helicopter can barely keep up with them!”
The lizard rests on a ship in the water. The druid looks on, and, in a giant leap, crashes into the barge as well, propelling his opponent back onto dry ground. The dragon screams as it flies through the air, and, just as it looks like it's going to shred it's face off on the street, it breathes a ray of frost, covering the whole street in a slippery layer of ice. He slides about uncontrollably, knocking into cars, but suffers far less damage then he would have eating the pavement.
“I guess this guy has some attack power, too! He's just choosing not to use it!”
The druid pops back on the shore and marches towards his enemy. The dragon regains his footing, and begins to create a barricade of ice with his frost breath, shielding him from the raging tiger-man. Taking caution with his footing, the druid comes to the ice wall, and starts pounding it, but it holds up.
“The druid needs a new plan if he wants to ruin that little guy's Halloween more!”
And a new plan, he has. After a momentary pause and rhythmic motion, the druid's tiger features recess and he quickly catches on fire.
“Oh, that'll work!”
His punches work just fine now, has the wall begins to slush away in clumps. The druid lays in hard lefts and rights, tossing the melting wall everywhere, until there is a breach in the wall. The druid begins to go through the snow mound, but the dragon sends a second wave ice breath, this time blowing really, really hard. The added wind extinguishes the blaze around the druid, and begins to freeze him in place. Within moments, the druid is locked in place, unable to move or power up into a different animal form. The dragon, hurt and apologetic, says “I'm sorry! I won't do it again!” and jets off. The druid watches him as long as he can, until he is completely out of sight.
“Did... Did that thing just say something? Tokyo is strange indeed...”
Eventually, the frost melts and the druid leave the battlefield, frustrated more with the fact that one of Tokyo's only beautiful natural landmarks was nearly destroyed than that dragon's escape. The druid walks into the park, and magically dissipates, becoming one with it.
“That fight seems over now, and, thankfully, that seems like the end of all this monster madness, at the moment. It surely is a scary fact that monsters are back on Earth, but why? At least we have brave men like Brian Thorn to take up arms against such evil foes like Draco the Malevolent. And some these monsters almost seem to have other things on their mind than just ruining humanity, like this speedy dragon guy and the druid. If only we knew more...”
“Please stay turned to Tokyo Tonight at Five for more information! Thank you and try to enjoy the rest of your Halloween!”
Fast Forward: Brian Thorn successfully defended Tokyo from Draco. Draco escaped when he found someone he couldn't bully.
Mebbles and Udyr fought back and forth and there was no real, clear cut, winner. Mebbles ran from the fight after freezing Udyr, but it looked like he didn't want to fight to begin with.
